What is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is a technique used to operantly condition the brain. Everyone’s brain has a unique way of behaving. This unique behavior can be seen as electrical activity and is viewed using a QEEG analysis. The QEEG gives insights into how a brain is performing and how areas of the brain are interacting
Using a QEEG as a guide can point to which areas of the brain are causing things like anxiety or depression. Neurofeedback can then be used to coach those areas of the brain by conditioning the brain to produce a different pattern of behavior.

What is Neurofeedback Therapy?

Neurofeedback therapy is a type of biofeedback that uses EEG (electroencephalography) to measure brain activity. EEG electrodes are placed on the scalp to record the brain’s electrical activity. This data is then fed back to the client in real-time, allowing them to learn how to control their own brain activity.
Having a neurofeedback therapist nearby is essential for consistent treatment sessions. As you engage with the neurofeedback tasks, the real-time feedback helps you learn to regulate your brain activity. The close presence of a neurofeedback therapist nearby ensures personalized guidance, making each session more effective

How Does Neurofeedback Work?

Neurofeedback therapy in Boulder works by training the brain to function more optimally. The brain is constantly producing different types of brainwaves, each of which is associated with different states of consciousness and performance. For example, alpha brainwaves are associated with relaxation and creativity, while beta brainwaves are associated with focus and concentration.
When the brain is functioning optimally, it produces a balanced mix of different brainwaves. However, in people with certain conditions, the brain may produce too much or too little of certain brainwaves. This imbalance can lead to a variety of symptoms, such as difficulty focusing, anxiety, or depression.
Neurofeedback therapy helps to correct this imbalance by training the brain to produce more of the brainwave patterns that are associated with optimal performance. Over time, the brain learns to function more efficiently and effectively, and performance improves.
